The drugs seized
As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the region, Gardaí in Co Longford attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit seized €42,000 worth of cannabis on Wednesday, February 19.
Gardaí stopped and searched a man on the N63 at Killashee, Co. Longford. He was found in possession of cannabis with an estimated street value of €2,000.
The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested and detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He was subsequently charged and bailed to appear before Longford District Court next month.

In a follow-up search of a house in the area, Gardaí seized cannabis and cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €40,000.
A woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested and detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. She was released without charge, pending the preparation of a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
