Longford native John Noonan, a past winner of The Goldsmith Poetry competition, will be the guest speaker at a poetry workshop on Saturday, February 22 in Granard library as part of 'Ireland Reads Day'.
Many people will be familiar with John's collection of poems 'Shades of Whitethorn'.

John Noonan grew up on a farm in County Longford and now lives in County Louth, he is a founding member of Dundalk Poetry Group. Highly Commended in the Kavanagh Poetry Award 2022, A Pushcart nominee. Over the Edge Festival featured poet in 2021, one of the chosen readers for the 2023 showcase Cúirt Literary Festival Galway. A past recipient of The Goldsmith Poetry Award.
