A new housing development in North Longford has been given the green light by local authority planners once numerous conditions are met.

The applicant MFG Construction Ltd lodged the application for the construction of 24 homes at Rathcronan in Granard with Longford County Council.

The planning application included 14 three bed semi-detached two storey homes, six two bed single storey houses and 4 three bed units.

The documents also contained plans for a new access road, a new entrance, green open spaces and a pedestrian pathway.

Longford County planners approved the application with 16 conditions attached.

Some of the conditions included the payment of €240,000 bond and a development contribution fee of €68,000.
