As the county came to terms with the serious destruction caused by Storm Éowyn, Longford fire service personnel were called to tackle a house fire on Friday evening, January 24.

Thankfully, none of the occupants of the house at Ardnacassa in Longford town were injured however the property was extensively damaged by the intensity of the flames and smoke.

A Garda spokesperson said “Gardaí and emergency services responded to a fire that occurred at a residence in the Ardnacassa area of Longford town at approximately 8pm last night, Friday, January 24.”

The spokesperson added, “No injuries were reported.”
