A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a car in Co Cavan on Saturday night.
The man in his 40s was fatally injured when he was struck by a car on the N54 at Plush, Cloverhill, at around 10.45pm on Saturday.
His body was removed to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The male driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s, was uninjured in the collision.
The road remains closed this Sunday morning pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardai have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between 10:30pm and 11:00pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí," a spokesperson said.
