Backstage Theatre in Longford
Two organisations in Longford are set to receive a total of €353,000 in funding from the Arts Council who have announced its first round of funding decisions for 2025.
Legan-based LD Dance Shawbrook will receive €78,000 in strategic funding while Longford's Backstage Theatre will receive €275,000 in grants.
LD Dance is a facility-based resource organisation and Shawbrook is a leading centre for dance education and promotion of dance and dance theatre.
Longford's Backstage Theatre is a leading arts venue in the Midlands which features high-quality drama, music, dance and comedy productions.
The Arts Council awarded 175 arts organisations, arts centres and arts studios grants nationwide a total of €68.5 million.
Chair of the Arts Council, Maura McGrath stated the funding allocations will be used to “support, strengthen and help develop arts organisations” across the country.
“This first round of funding decisions for 2025 will help allow artists, audiences and communities to come together through the unifying power of art,” she added.
