The man was found in Carrick-on-Shannon and taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment
Gardaí are investigating a serious assault which occurred at approximately 3am on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Main Street, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.
A male, aged in his late teens, was found on the road with head injuries and was taken to Sligo University Hospital.

It is understood he spent a number of days in hospital.

"We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at that time and witnessed the incident to get in contact," a garda spokesperson said.

They have also asked road users who may have dash-cam footage to contact Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station on 071 9650510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
