Gardai in the Midlands have issued an appeal for information after a frightening burglary on Wednesday.
A woman arrived home and found two burglars upstairs in her house.
Gardaí confirmed they are investigating the incident which occurred at a house in Lough Gate, Portlarlington at around 5.15pm.
The woman was unharmed but believed to be very shaken after the ordeal.

It’s understood the two men, who had their faces covered, were armed with an implement. Gardaí said they escaped on foot.
Gardaí issued a statement in relation to the incident.

“Gardaí responded to a reported burglary at a residence in Lough Gate, Portarlington, shortly after 5pm. Two intruders fled the scene empty-handed when the homeowner returned. No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing.”
Gardaí at Portlaoise Garda Station are appealing for information in relation to the burglary.
