There was a great atmosphere in the Hill Top Bar (formerly Dolan’s), Cleenrath, Aughnacliffe on Sunday, December 22 as the renowned pub was officially reopened.

The premises was recently purchased by local couple Norman and Michelle Hall and the honour of cutting the ribbon to mark the official reopening of the Hill Top Bar after four years was Granard Municipal District Cathaoirleach and local councillor Garry Murtagh.

The premises had been closed following the death of the previous owner Michael J Dolan in November 2020.

Norman & Michelle thanked all those who have supported them in their new venture and made special mention of both the late Michael Dolan and the late Helen Curran who was a very popular barmaid.

A fitting tribute was paid to both Michael and Helen with a photograph of both of them (right) and a candle lit to honour their memory.

Wishing Norman, Michelle and their children Katelyn and Aaron all the best in their new venture.
