Plans for a significant housing development on the outskirts of Longford Town have been given the go-ahead by Longford County Council planners.
Developer, Faughnan Construction Ltd, have been approved to progress with plans to demolish a house close to the Red Cow Roundabout for the extensive development.Last November Longford County Council planners received the planning application for the 30 house development at Aghadegnan, Longford.
The application by Faughnan Construction Ltd is for the proposed demolition of an existing house and the construction of a residential development.

That development is to consist of 30 houses, made up of 28 three-bedroom two-storey terraced type houses in seven blocks of four units, and two three-bedroom two-storey semi-detached houses. The planning application covers the provision of entrance, access road, green open space, boundary fences and walls, the proposed connections to the foul sewer, surface water and watermain networks as well as all ancillary site works.

The Aghadegnan development was approved subject to 16 conditions.
Permission has also been granted for the change of use of four individual apartments at St Mary’s Street, Drumlish, Co. Longford.

Applicant Seamus Gallagher was granted permission for the four apartments subject to nine conditions.
The apartments were originally granted a change of use exemption, together with three apartments at first floor level in the adjoining building, which was previously granted full planning permission into short term tourist self catering type accommodation.
