This Christmas in Longford has much to offer anyone looking for something to spice up their festive season. The Backstage Theatre is no different.

The Theatre has several upcoming productions that are a must-see, from talks, to films to plays to reenactments the Backstage Theatre is the place to be this December.

The legendary Mick Flavin makes a highly anticipated return to Backstage this Saturday, December 7. Mick will sing all the old favourites such as ‘Old School Yard’, ‘Maria’s Heading Out To California’, ‘Home In Longford’ and ‘Boolavogue’ to name but a few. He will also belt out a few from his new album and of course any special request that you may have.
ABBA Forever - The Christmas Show is taking place on Sunday, December 8 bringing with it all the musical stylings of the beloved Abba. It’s a sing-along event so don't be afraid to sing your heart out to some of their greatest hits.

Tickets cost €30 and will start at 8pm. Throw on your Gogo boots and head down to the Backstage for some fun.

A fundraiser for the Longford/Westmeath branch of Down Syndrome Ireland will be held backstage on Thursday, December 12.

The fundraiser will be a screening of a short film that stars some of the branch's younger members. The film is an adaptation of School of Rock and will be followed by a short award ceremony.

On Sunday, December 15 the always classic A Christmas Carol will be taking place, tickets are €10 and €35 for a family of four.

The run time is 45 minutes and will be a stage adaptation from award-winning actors, Aaron Monaghan and Bryan Burroughs of Livin' Dred Theatre Company.

The two bring the story to life through their unique form of playfully physical storytelling.

The December roster is finished off with yet another throwback from the Greatest 80s show on Friday, December 20 at 8pm.
