€56,250 funding boost for Longford outdoor community sports facilities

Longford Fine Gael Senator Micheál Carrigy

Senator Micheál Carrigy has welcomed the announcement of €56,250 in funding for the Longford Local Sports Partnership under the ‘Participation Nation Outdoor Fund’.

The funding will go towards the creation of barrier-free outdoor sports facilities, including 3 v 3 basketball courts, outdoor pickleball courts, and an outdoor volleyball court, at Albert Reynolds Peace Park in Longford.

Senator Carrigy said, “This is a fantastic boost for Longford’s community sports facilities. These new outdoor spaces will provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage in physical activity in a welcoming and accessible environment.”
