A young man accused of money laundering will have his case heard in Longford Circuit Court. Paul Adetunji (23) of 55 Lana Aoibheann, Longford was sent forward for trial in the Circuit Court by Judge Bernadette Owens at last week's sitting of Longford District Court.
The defendant faces a charge that on November 27 and 28, of 2019 at AIB Main St, Longford he handled property which was the proceeds of criminal conduct contrary to section 7 of Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Finance) Act.
Garda Eamon Fitzpatrick gave evidence of serving the Book of Evidence on the defendant on the morning of the court sitting.
Sergeant Enda Daly told Judge Owens the Director Of Public Prosecution was seeking to have Mr Adetunji returned for trial on November 5 on the single charge.
The defendant is to be remanded on bail, with the same conditions previously set out in court. Judge Owens issued the defendant with a bail warning, telling him that if he wished to rely on an alibi he must inform the prosecution within 14 day.
Legal aid was granted in the name of his solicitor, Brid Mimnagh, and one junior counsel.
