Cllr Martin Monaghan
Several councillors have asked the local authority to repair the road surface at a Longford roundabout which has been described as being in very poor condition.
Fianna Fáil's representative Martin Monaghan put forward the motion at last week's meeting of Longford Municipal District.
He stated the roundabout at McDonald's needs urgent attention as he explained the issues.
"There seems to be massive potholes on the left hand side as you are coming out of town on the McDonald's side and there is a dip on the right hand side as you go out there too and I would like some kind of repair on that," he added.

His party colleague, Cllr Uruemu Adejinmi supported the motion and said she drives into town on that road regularly and it was obvious improvement work was required.
Senior executive engineer of Longford MD, David McNiff said the work will not be completed this year.
Councillors heard road works on the Battery Road would have to be completed first before the repairs can be undertaken on the McDonald's and it is likely to be after Christmas before that happens.
