Longford Works, a new brand promoting remote working hubs, was launched by Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke TD in Longford Golf Club on Monday, September 30.

Longford Works offers modern comfortable workspaces for professionals and entrepreneurs at locations across County Longford, including Abbeyshrule, Ardagh, Edgeworthstown, Longford Town, Moydow, Moyne, and Mullinalaghta.

These spaces offer opportunities for remote workers and entrepreneurs to connect with others in a ready-made thriving community of remote workers.

Longford Works locations offer educational and training opportunities, including easy access to educational resources through the TUS Learning Gates. Students can also participate in Transition Year programs.

Longford Works secured funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development through the Town & Village Renewal Scheme. This project was developed by Longford County Council in partnership with the brand agency Designedly, with videography by Paireac Keane of King Tree Media.
Speakers at the event included Longford County Council Broadband Officer Christine Collins, Designedly founder Caroline Nesbitt, and Siemens Ireland Digitalisation and Sustainability lead and former Irish Internet Association CEO, Joan Mulvihill.

Minister Peter Burke said, “Longford Works is a fantastic initiative that allows workers, learners, and business owners to work in the heart of their communities while staying connected with the rest of the world.

“I often hear the practices used by Longford Works referenced across the country as a prime example of remote working done right and lots can be learned by following their lead!”
Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Mark Casey said, “It is great to see the launch of Longford Works. These remote working hubs are excellent workspaces filled with vibrant communities of remote workers and entrepreneurs. I encourage anyone who is considering remote working or starting up a business to consider a Longford Works remote working hub.”

Longford County Council Chief Executive Paddy Mahon added, “The Council proudly supports initiatives such as Longford Works that hope to encourage people to work within their own county, for the betterment of their local community and their own work-life balance.”
