Longford man accused of drug driving and possession of drugs
A defendant accused of drug driving and possession of drugs will return before Longford District Court in December.
Philip Kiernan (26) of Leitrim, Coolarty, Longford is accused of five charges. Mr Kiernan's charges stem from an incident on March 31, 2024 at Dublin St, Longford.
The defendant is charged with driving a vehicle while having a quantity of cocaine in his system above the legal limit, driving with excess alcohol in his system, refusing to give his name and address to a Garda when required ot do so, unlawful possession of cocaine and attempting to evade arrest.

Solicitor Brid Mimnagh said her client was not in court as he had just started a new job. The solicitor said Mr Kiernan is undertaking a Green Cert and is also participating in exams.

Having issued a disclosure order Judge Bernadette Owens adjourned the matter to December 10, 2024.
