Revenue seize contraband worth almost €350,000 in Midlands and Dublin

4-Methylpentedrone seized last week,

Various quantities of other illegal drugs, which included methamphetamine, magic mushrooms, cannabis, cannabis resin, reefers and Benzodiazepine tablets, were also seized.

The illegal drugs were discovered, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Grace, in parcels that originated in the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, Canada and Thailand, and were intended for addresses nationwide.

Revenue officers also seized a quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of over €24,500, due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.

The retail goods consisted of 50 x items of Adidas, Birkenstock, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, New Balance, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry, Chanel and Calvin Klein.

These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.
