Aged 56, Maria qualified in childcare and worked locally in her early years. She was warm-hearted and had a great sense of humour and fun.
She had a wide circle of friends and was a great people person. She had a strong Faith and found God in the people she met and the situations that life presented. Her motto was to take nothing for granted and be grateful for like and health.
She was very close to her aunt and uncle Kathleen and Ned Moore, late of Corduff and she loved doing jobs around the farm where could drive a tractor as good as any man.
Her pride and joy was her son Eddie and his wonderful achievements and the fine young man he was becoming. When Maria became ill she was admitted to Beaumont hospital where she sadly passed away on October 1.
Her remains reposed at Lakelands Funeral Home, Cavan on Thursday evening and funeral took place followed requiem mass in St Michael’s church, Potahee to adjoining cemetery. Celebrant was Fr Sean McDermott PP a personal friend of Marias.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
