Louis, Caroline and Louie Herterich celebrate their wins at Blas na hÉireann
Longford Artisan Butchers Herterichs are celebrating as they have scooped up two awards at Blas na hÉireann.
The Blas na hÉireann Food Awards celebrate and reward the very best tasting Irish food and drink products, and the passionate, driven producers who make it.
Three Longford producers were shortlisted for The Blas na hÉireann 2024 finals. The finalists for Blas na hÉireann, The Irish Food Awards, 2024 take place this weekend in the pretty seaside town of Dingle.
The three finalists shortlisted from Longford span a range of different categories; Goodness Grains Gluten Free Bakery, Herterich Artisan Butchers Ltd and Panelto Foods.
Herterich's Artisan Butchers took to Facebook to let their followers know about the win saying: “Great time down in Dingle at Blas Na Heireann! Two awards in the bag! Caroline's Stuffing is up next.”
Renowned across the region for their high quality range of delicious sausages, beef, lamb, pork and poultry Herterich's butcher is a landmark on Ballymahon St. The business was established in 1956 by Louis Herterich Snr and his wife Teresa. The Herterich family are originally from Baviera in southern Germany.
