As part of ongoing investigations into recent burglaries at residential and commercial premises in Roscommon and Longford, as well as offences in Westmeath, Cavan, Meath, Offaly, Dublin and Kildare, Gardaí arrested three people this morning (Friday, September 27, 2024).
 
Gardaí from Roscommon, assisted by members from Longford, Cavan, Meath, Kildare and the Dublin Metropolitan Region, arrested two males (aged in their 40s) and one juvenile (male) in Dublin in relation to the investigation of a number of burglaries.
 
They are being held at Garda stations in the North Western region pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

At the end of last month Garda investigations ramped up following three burglaries inside twenty-four hours in the south of county Longford.
Two commercial premises on Main Street in Lanesboro were targeted by burglars in the early hours of Tuesday, August 20.

In both incidents at - The Village Inn and Tasty Kebab & Pizza - a quantity of cash was reported as stolen while there was also damage to the premises.
