Irish Wheelchair Association celebrates their Annual Fundraising Day
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) is calling on Longford to support their Annual Fundraising Day that takes place today, Thursday, 26 September 2024. You can show your support by making a donation to one of their on-street collectors or by donating online at www.iwa.ie.
This year, IWA is excited to announce that donations can also be made at over 30 Chadwick stores. Chadwick’s has been a longstanding supporter of IWA at a local level, and their partnership will help further the organisation's mission.
IWA's Community Centre based in Kenagh, will also be out shaking buckets to fundraise for the day.
IWA is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in communities at a local and national level, helping people live a life full of choice, freedom, and joy. The charity relies on donations to fund essential services that benefit over 20,000 individuals nationwide.

These services include sport, accessible homes, transport, assisted living services, and Community Centre programmes that are a vital lifeline for many, helping to combat loneliness and isolation.
Stephen Cawley, an IWA member, shared his gratitude for the organisation stating, "They seriously help out with everything, every single problem you could ever think of. There's really nothing that they won't go out of their way to help you with. That's what makes this place so special. I've been here for two years, and I hope to be here for many more, so please donate now."
Stephen is among the many who receive a variety of supports from IWA, including their accessible bus service.

“Without IWA’s bus service, many of our members would be isolated in their homes. Without our Community Centres, many would miss out on opportunities for learning and that social connection everyone needs. So much magic happens daily in IWA communities across Ireland and we rely on the generosity of donations to help to continue this amazing work.” Says Breige McGinn, Head of Fundraising at Irish Wheelchair Association.
