Onlooker Shabban Naz praised the response of the Longford Fire Service
Two men are being treated for their injuries after a Longford pizzeria fire this afternoon.
The blaze began shortly 1pm when a pan at the Pizza Max outlet on Main St went up in flames.
It is understood Quddus Rehman (42), a brother of the proprietor who is originally from Pakistan, sustained minor burns to his knees and back.
He is being treated at the scene along with a bystander who also sustained injuries.
The Longford fire service have been lauded as heroes after they rushed to a fire at a Longford pizzeria this afternoon.
Onlooker Shabban Naz, who owns Longford Halal Meats, said the fire brigade arrived within 10 minutes and responded very promptly.
"They got here very quickly, they are heroes," she added.
Ms Naz said water was poured on the fire which made it worse.
The fire has now been brought under control.
The two men are being treated at the scene in ambulances and it is unclear if they will be hospitalised.
Gardaí assisted emergency services personnel at the scene.
