Thursday night, August 22 was a historic night for Ballymahon GAA with the switching on of their new floodlights and the launch of their major fundraiser called ‘Quid Games’ which will be used to kickstart the next stage of their long awaited pitch development.

The monies raised will be used as leverage to access major capital funding to develop pitch facilities for their growing community.

‘Quid Games’ is a series of fun games which will take place for a prize fund of €10,000 in the Longford Arms Hotel on Friday night, October 18.

The prize fund will be shared between the competitor (€2k) and their nominated club/charity (€8k). There will also be a runner up prize of €2k.

Each contestant is being asked to raise a minimum of €2,000 to take part with the highest fundraiser receiving a bye to the later rounds. Unlike other major fundraisers contestants have no advance preparation to do, they just use their skills on the night! Contestants can raise their contribution through a combination of sponsorship, ticket sales and a small fundraising event.

‘Quid Games’ is being managed on behalf of Ballymahon GAA by Clubspot who will mentor and support contestants over the next eight weeks. There has been a great response to date with over 40 competitors representing Clubs and Charities signed up.

If there is anyone still out there who would like to represent their club or charity they can apply by contacting Ciara on 086 4091062 or emailing ciaramoughty@gmail.com for further information.

There will be a number of valuable audience raffle prizes on the night in addition to a major cash prize based on the door tickets on the night. Please support by way of contestant funding, sponsorship and ticket purchase.

Separately, Ballymahon GAA Club also switched on its new floodlights, which is a major addition to their facilities.
