The late Emer Fox
A fundraising drive to honour the memory of a departed family member raised double the target thanks to the the family's participation in the Longford Marathon.
Having set a target of €5,000 the family of Emer Fox raised €12,000 on the iDonate platform for Longford Hospice Homecare.
The family explained the reason for the initiative on the fund raising page: “Our dear daughter/sister Emer Fox passed away on the 20th of August 2023 after a three year battle with an aggressive form of Sarcoma.

“To mark Emer's first anniversary, members of our family and our good friends took part in the Longford Marathon on August 25 to raise much needed funds for Longford Hospice Homecare.
“Emer's dying wish was to pass away at home in Ballinalee surrounded by her family. This was only made possible because of the wonderful hospice staff in Longford who cared for her so lovingly, ensuring her comfort and dignity right until the end.
“We are overwhelmed by the support we have received so far. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
