A cloud of darkness and sadness filled our community on Friday last, August 30 when our beloved Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Michael Campbell passed away at Drumderrig House Nursing Home, Boyle.
The Very Reverend Michael Campbell, P. P. was formerly of Cloonohill, Drumlish and a curate in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim and Ferbane, Co Offaly.
Father Michael’s dedication to his parishioners, his commitment and support to the development of our community and his faith was truly inspiring to each and everyone of us. He has touched the hearts and souls of so many people in Abbeylara and beyond.

His words of wisdom and guidance will continue to resonate in our hearts. Father Michael’s legacy will live on through the memories he shared with us, and we are so grateful for the time we had with him.
As we mourn the loss of such a remarkable man and a dear friend, let us also celebrate his life and let us hold onto the memories we shared with him that bring us comfort and strength. May his teachings, kindness, blessings and healing hands continue to inspire us in our daily lives and remember to hold onto the love and light that our Parish Priest brought into our Community.
