Longford Text Alert lets you easily stay on top of what is going on in your local area with app alerts, SMS text messages or emails notifications from the local text alert groups across the county.
Longford Text Alert is a collaborative project between Longford Local Community Safety Partnership, Longford County Council, local text alert groups and An Garda Síochána. The development of the Longford text Alert app and website was funded by Longford County Council and Department of Rural and Community Development under Our Rural Future: Digital Innovation Programme 2021.
The system is focused so you won’t get flooded with alerts – you choose the location where you want to receive alerts for whether you are in Lanesboro or Abbeylara, Moyne or Ballymahon, or anywhere in-between.
Free to use, with no subscription fees or alert charges, you can view your alerts in-app, by SMS text messages and email.
