Longford County Council have issued notice of their intention to develop a 22 house estate in Lanesboro.
The local authority issued the Part 8 Planning and Development notice of the proposed development this week.
Part 8 Planning is a mechanism used by councils to apply for planning permission to develop projects like social housing or a Strategic Development Zone.
The proposed development is the construction of a new housing development of 22 houses with associated services, access roads and car parking at the proposed greenfield site.
The plans incorporate boundary walls/fences, car parking, pedestrian entrances, landscaping, connection to existing services and associated site works at Radhar Na Muileann, Knock, Lanesboro, Longford.
The layout will consist of 13 two-bedroom two storey units, two two-bedroom single storey units, five single bedroom single storey units, and two three-bedroom two storey units.
The plans and particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection at the council's offices during official public opening hours.
The notice issued by John Brannigan, Director of Services, Longford County Council, concludes by saying: “Submissions with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area, may be made in writing to Longford County Council, headed "Radhar Na Muileann, Knock, Lanesborough" and addressed to Planning Section, Longford County Council, Áras an Chontae, Great Water Street, Longford to arrive not later than 4pm on Monday, 30 September 2024.”
