A man has pleaded guilty to two charges of dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm in Ballymahon last year.
Jaison Kurian (46), of Ballyclare Court, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon, appeared at a sitting of Longford Circuit Court last week, where he was arraigned on two counts on the indictment.
The particulars of the offence were that, on April 9, 2023, at Drinan, Ballymahon, Mr Kurian drove a vehicle dangerously, causing serious bodily harm to two women. Mr Kurian replied “guilty” to each of the charges.
Senior Counsel for Mr Kurian, Dara Foynes, requested that the court adjourn the matter to the November sittings of the court to allow for a probation report.
“He’s a chef by profession and effectively a stay-at-home dad to allow his wife, a cardiac nurse, to work,” she said.
Mr Kurian was remanded on continuing bail and will reappear at Longford Circuit Court on November 2.
