The highly anticipated annual 3 Province Festival will kick off in Arva from Thursday, August 1
The five-day event will take place until the evening of Monday, August 5, and there truly is something for everyone!
Thursday will get the party started with a jam-packed schedule, with Raft Wars on Gartylough at 7pm, a Masters GAA Game between Cavan & Longford at 8pm and Cantus Music in Cafe Rem at 9pm.
Friday will include some of the biggest events of the weekend, including kayaking and paddle boarding from 5pm on Gartylough Lake, as well as the hotly-contested 3 Province Table Quiz in O’Hara’s Bar at 9pm. Booking is essential for kayaking and paddle boarding, and can be done by text at 0861280663.

Saturday will feature the rip-roaring The Breffni Three Province Challenge, with live music across the bars for the night.
On Sunday, a festival market will take place from 2pm to 6pm on the Market Square. For those with fine palettes, Arva Tastings will be hosted in the Brewery Bar from 5pm to 7pm.
A Jiving Competition will also be hosted on Sunday on the Market Square from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm. Prizes include €200 for first place, €100 for second, and €50 for third. This should be a great evening’s entertainment, so get out your dancing shoes and give it a go!
The final day of the festival is not one to be missed, as Monday will include something for the whole family. A kids art workshop will kick off in St. Patrick's Hall at 10am, and those looking to be included for this can book in by calling 087 2683 423.
A drumming Workshop with Drumadore will also be held on Monday at 1:30pm in St Patrick’s hall, which can be booked by phoning 086 1672 959.
As well as five days of festivities, the highly-anticipate Breffni Challenge will take place on Saturday 3rd August. The annual Challenge raises much needed funds for 3 Cancer Charities, and will start from St Patrick’s Hall, Arva.
The 3 Province challenge includes AAI Approved Half Marathon and 10Km, plus 7Km and 5 Km Fun Runs / Walks (including a new and improved route). This will bring participants through the 3 Provinces of Ulster, Connaught and Leinster with some spectacular views along the way while raising Funds for Charity.
The event also includes a 100 Km, 50 Km and 30 Km Cycle events. Last year, around 800 people of many different abilities took part across all the events.
The 3 Charities benefitting are St Luke’s Cancer Care (Dublin), National Breast Cancer Research (NBCI) and Cavan Cancer Homecare.

Helpers are wanted for the event, as the event's success has been based on the amazing generosity of the many volunteers who make it possible.
