Details of the programme for the eagerly awaited 2024 Marquee in Drumlish Festival were unveiled on Friday as the organisers held the official launch in Quinn's.
The Festival will attract music lovers from all over the country. Building on the success of over a decade of entertaining the masses, the 2024 Marquee in Drumlish boasts a phenomenal line up of music from Friday, August 9 to Monday, August 12.
Momentum is now building for this year's festival hosted by Fr Manning Gaels GFC, and details of the line up for the weekend of live music were revealed at the launch last Friday.
Chairperson of the Marquee in Drumlish Festival, Michael Mulleady, said the support of the community is what makes the festival so appealing: “We appreciate everyone who attends the festival, and it has allowed us to build on its success each year. A community and voluntary event like this cannot run without volunteers.

“We are very grateful to everyone who gives their time each year to help out. Thanks also to the Gray Family who provide the site and our neighbouring residents for their understanding and support.”
Friday night (August 9) of the festival kicks off in style with internet sensation Allie Sherlock. She is followed by The Highstool Prophets and Ruaile Buaile with their twist on folk and trad.
Saturday night (August 10) the marquee goes country with Jimmy Buckley and his band. He is followed by the return of the great Derek Ryan and his band to Drumlish.

Mr Mulleady said the music continues over the weekend: “On Sunday (August 11) we have back by popular demand Qween, Ireland’s most authentic Queen tribute band. Chasing Abbey who were with us in 2017 join us again as part of their 2024 tour. They are followed by Drumlish’s own Cronin who close out Sunday night.
“Monday night (August 12) we host The Declan Nerney Night. This night has featured many greats in the country and Irish scene. This year is no exception with Nathan Carter and of course, Declan Nerney taking to the stage.”

Committee member Ciarán Lennon said the support of local businesses is crucial for the festival: “Mulleady Properties are our official sponsor each year and their support and assistance are invaluable. We are also helped by many other local businesses to make the festival happen. Longford County Council and Longford Tourism are providing grant assistance for which we are very thankful.”
