Garda probe launched as man hospitalised following alleged Longford town assault

The victim was injured in the attack and rushed to Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment, according to local gardaí

Gardaí probe launched as man hospitalised following alleged Longford town assault

Gardaí are investigating assault on a man which took place in Longford town last week.

The attack took place at around 4:30pm on Friday evening in the Garvey’s Lane area of town.

It’s believed the victim sustained some injuries as a result, and was taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment.

Gardaí said in a statement that no arrests have been made as of yet.

“Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred on Friday, 28th June 2024 in Longford Town at approximately 4.30pm.

"A man in his 40s suffered non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.

"Investigations are ongoing.”
