Longford fire service tackle serious blaze at business on outskirts of Ballymahon
County Longford fire service personnel tackled a serious blaze which broke out at a business premises on the outskirts of Ballymahon yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after 5.30pm on Wednesday, June 26, reports began to emerge of the fire at Groarke Bros Hardware and Agri Supplies, located at Terlicken on the R-392 Ballymahon to Lanesboro road.
Traffic along the route was reduced to one lane for a time to enable emergency services, gardaí and fire brigade to seal off the scene and deal with the extensive fire.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed, "Gardaí and fire services attended the scene of a fire at a premises in Drinan, Ballymahon Co Longford.
"The incident occurred at approximately 5.40pm on Wednesday evening, 26th June 2024.
"The fire was later brought under control. No injuries have been reported."
