Idyllic Mayo setting as Longford couple exchange wedding vows in beautiful ceremony

St Brendan's church in Tiernaur, Co Mayo was the setting for a lovely wedding on Saturday, June 1 last when Granard Parish Priest Fr Simon Cadam united Deirdre, daughter of Willie and Bernie Monaghan, Willsbrook, Coolarty and Shane, son of Michael and Rosaleen Mahon, Rosiel, Ballinrud in holy marriage.

Deirdre and Shane were joined by their families and many friends from both Ballymore and Abbeylara GAA clubs for the lovely wedding reception which was held in The Mulranny Park Hotel where an evening and night of great entertainment was enjoyed by all present.

We join with the Monaghan and Mahon families in wishing Deirdre and Shane a long and happy life together in their beautiful new home in Willsbrook and look forward to seeing Shane in the 'Black and Amber' of Ballymore in the very near future!

Extending congratulations to the happy couple, Ballymore Ladies football club posted on Facebook; "Congratulations to Deirdre Monaghan and Shane Mahon on their wedding day! Deirdre has been an inspirational and role model Player and contributor to her Ballymore Ladies club as a player, underage coach and committee member.
