Longford's first ever Pride Parade and celebration of the local LGBTQ+ community takes place this coming weekend with festivities commencing on Saturday June 15.
There will be several events taking place in Longford town on the day, with something for everyone.
The event takes place in Longford Town, with a craft market in Pig Lane Market from 12:00pm; the much anticipated parade starting at 4:00pm from Connolly Barracks; an after-parade celebration from 5:00pm at Pig Market Lane and an after-party in Valentine’s Bar from 8:30pm.
The Pride parade starts at Connolly Barracks and will be marshalled by Rebecca Tallon de Havilland.

In the spirit of celebration the Longford LGBT community are issuing an open invitation to the post-parade celebration at Pig Market Lane. This will be a colourful gathering with discussion and live music to set the tone.
There is a great buzz building about the over 18s After Party to be held in the Spiral Tree Whiskey Bar from 8.30pm.

This extravaganza will feature a host of entertainment including the Drag Acts from the Haus of Kéwn. The after party commences at 9.30pm.
Speaking about the event Longford Pride Committee member, Sam McGarry said: “Longford is full of diverse communities who work together all year round for the progress and development of our county. Pride for me is about celebrating love and authenticity.”
