A Longford man has died after being involved in a road traffic collision in Clondra last week.
Noel Walsh, 73, from Clondra suffered serious injuries after the jeep he was travelling in collided with a car at Kilmore Cross, on Tuesday, February 17 last.
Both Mr Walsh and the male driver of the car were taken to the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, in the aftermath of the crash.
Mr Walsh was then transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin, but tragically passed away last Friday surrounded by his family.
A farmer of note, the late Mr Walsh was very well known in the Clondra and Killashee area and his tragic death has deeply shocked the entire community.
The late Noel Walsh is survived by his wife Patsy, children Ronnie, Veronica and Bríd, sisters Helen Marsden and Mai Farrell, 10 grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, neighbours, relatives and friends.
He will repose at his home at Aughnagore, Clondra today, Wednesday, from 2pm. Removal on Thursday to arrive at St Brendan’s Church, Clondra for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon. Interment will take place afterwards in Ballinakill Cemetery. House private on Thursday morning.
