Longford assault case adjourned for preparation of victim impact statement

A young man accused of an assault will have the case against him concluded in May. Dean Donaldson (23) of  Rooskey, Leitrim faces a charge of assault causing harm arising from an incident on September 18, 2022 at Eden Nightclub, Longford.
Sergeant Enda Daly said the assault charge arose from a situation where Garda responded to a call regarding an alleged assault at a Nightclub in Ballymahon Street, Longford in the early hours of the morning on the date of the incident.
Although there was no CCTV footage available the officers spoke to a number of people present, including Dean Donaldson.
The defendant allegedly admitted hitting another male, Keighlum Ledwith, with a closed fist on the nose. Photographs of the injury sustained by the alleged victim were previously shown to the court.
The injured party has made a full recovery. The defendant was in court with €200 in compensation.
Judge Owens said she would adjourn the matter to May 14 next to allow the preparation of a victim impact statement.
