Urgent roadworks are required on a number of routes in Co Longford, one local TD indicated this week.
Longford/Westmeath Fine Gael TD, Deputy James Bannon called on the National Roads Authority (NRA) to carry out urgent works on a number of roads in the south of the county.
He said that a number of areas on the N55 - particularly at Carrickboy in south Co Longford were now “accident blackspots”. “Improvements also need to be carried out at a dangerous junction at Nally’s in Ballymahon, while the N63 at Killashee village is a bottleneck which should be prioritised,” he said. “If these necessary works are carried out, it will alleviate the present situation and help prevent any serious accidents.”
