Preparations are well underway for the 150th anniversary of St John’s Church, Lanesboro next weekend (April 20-22).

Proceedings kick off on Friday next at 7pm with a special children’s service, involving pupils from Lanesboro Primary School and St John’s Sunday School.

The following evening, locals will be afforded the opportunity of learning more about the church’s historic resonance, courtesy of an exhibition from 10am-6pm.

Then, on Sunday Bishop Ken Clarke is expected to officiate a Service of Thanksgiving from 3:30pm.

Refreshments will also be served in the local St Mary’s Hall following the service in what is widely viewed as being one of the highlights in the Rathcline local calendar this year.
