Work of Longford student features in This is Art! exhibition

Ro Ronan McGarry a Longford student's work features in This is Art! exhibition

Ronan McGarry, from Newtownforbes had his commended 2021 image entry, 'The World Through Screens’ created in lockdown included in the first This is Art! Exhibition, hosted by the RHA in collaboration with RTE and the Creative Ireland Programme.

Ronan is 14 years old and attends Moyne Community School alongside his twin sister Bronwyn - his parents are Darren and Loretto McGarry. Ronan’s entry from 2021, created when he was 11 years old, was highly commended by the judges for its reflection of the world we lived in at the time. The competition started in 2021 and to date has over 15,000 entries from young artists of all abilities, ranging from canvas to post-its, sculpture to street art, fashion to photography. The exhibition which is on until October 29 shows a small selection of these entries from the last three years.
