Longford councillor concerned over high number of collisions on N55 near Ardagh
Cllr Paul Ross has called on Longford County Council to apply for a Low Cost Safety Scheme at Crossea, Ardagh on the N55 in light of a high number of collisions on that section of the road.
“There’s a bad bend and a car crashed into a ditch there and it wasn’t the first one,” said Cllr Paul Ross.
Area Engineer, Brian McNeela, explained that there were no Low Cost Safety Schemes available. He also said that the area has not been identified as a “high collision” area and the issue will therefore be referred to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
