Longford's Felispeaks is to perform at Ireland 100-An Old Song Resung

 Longford's Felispeaks is due to perform at Ireland 100 -An Old Song in the RDS on October 7 .

  The concert will air on RTÉ on October 30.  This event will commemorate the hundred years from 1923-2023 through the lens of Irish culture. The performances on display will feature songs, music, dance and spoken word. Dermot Kennedy, and Moving Hearts join a host of previously announced performers and contributors including Damien Dempsey, Aiden Gillen, Tolü Makay, Colm Mac Con Iomaire and Síle Denvir with Bláth na hÓige and Liam Ó Maonlaí, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Loah, Martin Hayes, FeliSpeaks, Diarmaid Ferriter, Sally Mulready OBE, the London Irish Pensioners Choir and more.  

Felispeaks is a Nigerian-Irish poet, performer and playwright from Longford, who has many previous accomplishments. These include being a member of the Poetry Ireland Board of Directors, winning best performer at the 2022 Dublin Fringe Festival, two of her poems are being added to the Leaving Cert Ordinary Level English Curriculum for the years 2023 and 2025. Felispeaks has recently been commissioned by the Irish Repertory Theatre and Fishamble : The New Play Company for the Transatlantic Commission for Black Irish Artists.   

The event will be broadcasted on RTÉ One, RTÉ Player and RTÉ Radio 1 on Monday, October 30.
