On Sunday, August 4, truck and tractor enthusiasts will take to the roads of Longford for a charity truck and tractor run.
Held in association with Mostrim and District Vintage Club, proceeds from the Longford Truck and Tractor Run will go to St Christopher’s Services Longford and Edgeworthstown Tidy Towns. Funds will also go to Longford Sub Aqua club in memory of Sean Kelly Junior, to whom the truck convoy is also dedicated. In the past ten years, the event has raised an incredible €90,000, with €71,000 of that going to St Christophers, and the rest being divided amongst other worthy causes.
Tractors will meet in Edgeworthstown on the day at 10am, while the trucks will assemble in Cullyfad at 2pm. Both runs will take separate routes, before finishing at The Mostrim Arms, Edgeworthstown, where there will be food served and spot prizes donated by local businesses.
Entry costs €20, or alternatively, those interested can enter with a sponsorship card.
Motorists in Cullyfad should take note that traffic will be restricted from 2pm-4pm on Sunday, August 4.
