There was widespread upset at the recent death of young father, Thomas (Tommy) Corrigan (pictured) of Farnagh Glebe, Longford.

His family run a very successful and landmark dairy farm across from Longford Slashers.

As well as farming, Tommy was held in very high regard for his maintenance and construction business.

His death is a cruel blow for all but especially his fiancée, Denise, who runs the popular Pia boutique on Dublin Street, Longford town.

A tall and impressive man, Tommy was great company and a true friend to many. He loved and was fiercely proud of his three young sons, Jake, Tadhg and Dean.

Tommy was a great worker and took great pride from a job well done and would always go the extra mile and probably went out of his way for the elderly and those with limited means.

Huge crowds came to pay their respects to Tommy and family following his sudden death and many regaled us with stories of his friendship and good natured humour. Sadly his life was all too short.

The late Tommy Corrigan passed away on Monday, August 14. He will be sadly missed by his parents, Ann and Packie; his fiancée, Denise; sons, Jake, Tadhg and Dean and their mother, Linda; his brother, Patrick; sisters, Edel Spollen, Theresa Costello, Julie-ann, Helena and Rosie; brothers-in-law Paul and John; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. His remains reposed at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road before mass of the resurrection in St Mel’s Cathedral followed by private cremation.
