A teenage girl has died following a road crash in Gowna yesterday evening.
The girl died after the tractor she was travelling in collided with a ditch in Cavan late last night.
The incident happened at around 11pm on the L2514 at Loughduff.
A teenage boy, who had been driving the tractor, was uninjured in the incident.
The girl's body has been brought to Cavan General Hospital mortuary and a post mortem is scheduled to take place.
Gardaí have closed the road pending a garda forensic examination, and local diversions are in place.

A young mother who “acted like a crazed cannibal” in a “horrific attack” was told she may have a District Court prison sentence extended if a Probation Service report is not favourable.
They have appealed for any witnesses or those who may have dashcam footage to contact them at Cavan Garda station on 049 436 8800, or any garda station.
