Road reopened as Gardaí appeal for witnesses to Longford collision

Longford Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at Ferefad, Longford in the early hours of this morning, (Sunday, August 9).

Longford Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at Ferefad, Longford in the early hours of this morning, (Sunday, August 9).

A car with five occupants collided with a ditch at approximately 3.50am on the Ferefad to Ballymacormack road.

One of the male passengers (19 years old) was seriously injured and taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar for treatment.

The driver and three other passengers were uninjured.

Investigating Gardaí completed a forensic collision examination of the collision scene and diversions were in place. The road has since reopened.
