LEINSTER SCOR : Well done to the Drumlish/Ballinamuck Set Dancers who won the Leinster Final of Scór na nÓg in Ballymore on Sunday last.

This dance troupe areShane & Ciarn Quinn Mark Breslin, Ruair Carty Natalie Connell Sinad Breslin, Siobhn Breslin and Mandy Cassidy. They are trained by Yvonne Breslin and Bernie Collum and are the toast of the parish this week having beaten off stiff competition to win the Leinster title. They now go forward to the All Ireland final in a few weeks time. We join them their families and the whole community of Drumlish and Ballinamuck in wishing them every success in the All Ireland Final.


Congratulations to Cindy Manning daughter of Martina and John Manning Clonellan Drumlish who celebrated her 21st birthday in the Olde Village Inn last weekend. We wish you Happy Birthday Cindy and hope you enjoy many more happy birthdays.


Congratulations to Rosemary eldest daughter of John and Eleanor Reynolds Longford Rd. Drumlish and Michael son of Gerry and Lucy Kellegher Carigallen who announced their engagement last week. We join their families and friends in wishing Rosemary and Michael every blessing and happiness in the future.


St. Mary's National School Drumlish Table Quiz will take place in the Village Inn Drumlish on Friday night next 21 January at 8.30pm Spot Prizes, table of 4 €40 . Your support would be geatly appreciated.

Please note the correction I the dates s there was a mistake on the Parish Calendar. Drumlish Childen will receive their First Holy Communion on May 7th and Ballinamuck children on May 21st. Details will be published again nearer to the event.


The above continues at the usual times during the coming week – our intentin for prayer might be peace. Now that the New Year is truly with us we might renew or make a new resolution to "spend one hour" with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament All are welcome even for a few minutes.


Congratulations to Oliver Heslin on his great win recently in the Fine Gael national Draw which took place in Dublin a few weeks ago. Happy spending Oliver.


Congratulations to James Noonan son of Bernadette and Seamus Noonan Monaduff who was selected to play for the County. James is following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and granduncle and is now carrying on the long tradition of playing with the County. We join his family and friend in wishing him every success on the playing field in the year ahead, and in the future.


Sinn Fein Annual Church Gate Collection will take place throughout Co. Longford next weekend at all Masses – 22nd&23rd January.


Ballinamuck ICA will hold their first meeting of the New Year on Monday January 24th in the '98Hall Ballinamuck at 8.00pm sharp.

All members are asked to attend. After the meeting Dr. Sumi Moodley GP will give a talk on Health Issues and she will answer all your questions and queries relating to same. The talk starts at 9.00pm and anyone wishing to attend is welcome to do so. Please come along and bring a friend. All are welcome.

Bohan: The death took place recently of Brendan Bohan Currygranny Newtownforbes. To his brother Michael, sisters Monica and Bernadette New York, Hilary and family, nephews, nieces relatives and friends we extend our deepest and sincere sympathy. His burial took place in Cloone on Monday last.

Reynolds: The death took place recently of Sen Reynolds late of Gaigue Ballinamuck. To his wife Margaret, son Michael, daughter Heather, sisters Mary, Catherine, Anne, Patricia, and Helen, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins relations and friend we extend our deepest and sincere sympathy. Burial takes place this week in Btharnabreena cemetery Dublin

Faughnan: The death took place last week in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Longford of Margaret Faughnan Corrinagh Ballinamuck .
