Longford Municipal District Meet the Candidate: Mujahid Manzoor, Independent
‘Let’s fly high as one for change’ is the slogan of the Longford Municipal District Independent candidate Mujahid Manzoor.
Mujahid says that his journey from Pakistan to Longford has instilled in him a profound appreciation for cultural diversity, a belief in the power of inclusivity, and the understanding that progress is achieved through collaboration.
He has been living in Ireland since 1987 and in Longford for the last 25 years and has had several successful businesses.
“Longford has become my home, a place that I am wholeheartedly committed to serving,” he says.
For Mujahid, Longford is not just a place on the map. He adds, “It's a community that has welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to contribute to its growth and prosperity. If elected, I am dedicated to ensuring that every voice regardless of background or origin, is heard and valued.
“I understand the challenges our town faces - the need for better infrastructure, accessible health care, good quality drinking water, fostering economic growth, sustainability and integration. Those are not just aspirations, they are goals that I am passionately committed to achieving for the betterment of each and every one of us.
“I stand here not as a representative of one particular background but as a person who understands the value of embracing differences and harnessing them for the collective good of our community.”
