Longford Gardaí are investigating a burglary on a house on Saturday in Lanesboro where jewellery was stolen by the culprits during the raid

Gardaí are investigating a burglary on a house on Saturday in Lanesboro where jewellery was stolen by the culprits during the raid.

The incident occurred between 3pm and 10pm and the burglars gained entry by forcing open the back door.

There were no occupants in the house at the time of the raid and it is understood the culprits avoided being captured on CCTV and there was no alarm activated.

Gardaí are carrying out their enquiries and no arrests have been made to-date.
