Anne Carroll has been dedicated to the role for twenty years as a part of the parish community

Former sacristan at St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro for two decades, Anne Carroll, was recently honoured for her service and all her work in the parish.

Bishop Paul Connell presented Anne with a special Papal Award (Benemerenti Medal - which is awarded by the Pope to members of the laity and clergy in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Catholic Church) in recognition of her dedication to the role for twenty years.

Bishop Connell celebrated Mass in St Mary’s Church on Sunday, May 25 and before a packed congregation he paid tribute to Anne for her outstanding contribution to the church.

Anne has been a dedicated part of the parish community over the past twenty years and she has made such a huge contribution to the life of the Parish, which, please God, she will continue in a new way.

Anne has done sterling work, sometimes above and beyond the call of duty. With the support of her husband Sean they have taken on so much that defies how they achieved it and they did so comprehensively.
