Man fined for 'causing nuisance' to Longford businesses

A man found drunk and “causing a nuisance” on the main street of Longford has been fined €150 by District Court Judge Bernadette Owens.
Vadim Jedrisovs (39), Macmine, Castle Lodge, Bree, Enniscorthy, pleaded guilty to being found intoxicated in public at Main Street on February 24, 2022.
Sgt Mark Mahon, for the State, said when gardaí came across the accused, he was found disorientated and “causing a nuisance” to local businesses, most notably Luigis.
He said despite being directed to leave the area, Mr Jedrisovs failed to do so and was arrested for his own safety.
Judge Owens was informed the accused had one previous conviction for public order, a penalty which was handed down in December 2o21.
In defence, solicitor John Quinn said his client was remorseful over what had transpired.
“He didn't mean to cause offence and when he got out of the (garda) station, he was compliant.
“He went back and apologised.”
Judge Owens handed down a fine of €150, allowing Mr Jedrisovs four months to pay.
